This color is close to my inner young heart. The color of sophistication emitted by the fruit that defined my teenage years. Backyards in Nueva Ecija, there are plenty of caimito trees, bountiful and colorful.
The star apple, or murado, was my regular snack back then. Sweet and satisfying. It was crutch when the craving for food sets in. As a teenager, purple heart caimito always saves my hungry stomach.
